The 16GB Video Pen can be a tad tricky at first, so we wanted to make this quick start guide to make it as easy as possible for you to learn how to use it.

Mode Switch: To record video, slide the switch to ‘R’. To record only audio, slide it to ‘L’. To take snapshots, put it on ‘M’.

To turn power on/off: Press the button for 2 seconds, and a solid blue light will turn on to show it’s in standby mode. Press it for

another 2 seconds and it will power off.

To record video: Quickly press the button. The blue LED on the back will begin to flash every second or so, which means that

it’s now recording video and sound. Press it another time and the video will stop recording, save the file, and go into standby.

To record only audio: Put the mode switch to ‘L’ and the light turns solid blue. It’s now in audio only mode, and will start

recording the moment it hears a decently loud and clear sound. Press the button once to save the file before turning it off.

To take a photo: Put the mode switch to ‘M’ and the light turns solid green. It’s now in picture mode. Click the button whenever

you want to take a picture, and the light will flash once and return to a solid green.

To set the date/time: While the video pen is plugged into a computer, make a new text file directly onto the memory card and

name it ‘time’ (without quotes). Open the text file, and key in the date/time exactly as follows: 2012.31.12 23:59:00 Y

****If you prefer to have no time stamp, replace the ‘Y with a ‘N’. Save this file and unplug the camera.

To view the video: Plug the camera into a computer and flip the switch to ‘M’. It will then show up as a disk drive on your

computer, and inside the drive are the videos you recorded earlier. You may need to download VLC media player to playback the

file if you are having trouble with Windows Media Player or Quicktime.

To charge the battery: When connected to a computer, the light will flash blue while charging and turn solid when done.
